When a standard lintel isn't rated for the weight of your brickwork, you need a Hot Rolled Angle. At Vincent Buda and Company, we supply heavy-duty hot-rolled steel specifically for residential and commercial applications where there is a significant load above the opening—such as multi-storey brickwork, heavy roof tiles, or wide window spans.

Unlike thinner lintel profiles, these solid steel sections are manufactured at extreme temperatures to provide maximum structural stiffness and load-bearing performance. They are the heaviest-duty steel angles in the residential and commercial range, often specified by engineers to prevent sagging in high-load areas of the home. Every hot-rolled angle in our inventory is Hot-Dip Galvanised (R3) to provide a permanent, rust-proof barrier against the Australian climate. Since 1957, we’ve been the trusted source for heavy-duty steel angles, keeping these heavy sections in stock and ready for same-day or next-day delivery.

Four Primary Applications for Hot Rolled Angles:

Multi-Storey Residential: Supporting heavy brickwork on the ground floor of two-storey homes.
Wide Window Headers: Providing extra stiffness for large residential windows where standard lintels may deflect.
Heavy Roof Loads: Used when the roof structure puts concentrated pressure directly over a masonry opening.
Structural Garage Openings: Offering a robust alternative for residential garage entries requiring higher load capacities.

Why choose our Hot Rolled Angles?

Superior Load Capacity: Thicker and more rigid than standard cold-formed residential lintels.
R3 Galvanised: Hot-dip galvanised to ensure the structural integrity of your home for decades.
Engineer Specified: The go-to choice for residential projects requiring high-load structural certification.
Fast Site Delivery: We ship same day or next day to ensure your bricklayers aren't left waiting.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

You should use a Hot Rolled Angle when your engineer specifies a higher load requirement, common in multi-storey homes or where there is a heavy concentration of masonry or roof weight above a single opening.
Yes, we offer a precision cutting service. Cutting through thick hot-rolled steel is difficult on-site; we can do it for you to save you time and labor. (Note: cutting services may involve a small lead time of 1-3 business days).
Yes, we stock them in lengths up to 6 metres. We provide the heavy-duty support needed for almost any residential span that exceeds the capacity of standard shelf lintels.
This depends on the brickwork configuration. Generally, T-Bars are used for double-brick cavities, while Hot Rolled Angles are often used for single-skin brickwork or as part of a larger structural assembly. Always follow your engineering plans.
